Senior General Manager (Public Relations), National Dairy Development Board, Anand 388 001, Gujarat.
This is the senior most position in the Dairy Board apart from those of the Chairman, and the Executive Directors. It involves the complete image management of the Dairy Board of India. The work has both national and international ramifications since the Dairy Board, which is a statutory body of the Government of India, has to deal with the Government of India, Parlia ment, the bureaucracy and international organisations like the World Bank, the Food and Agricultural Organisations and cooperative organisations of other major dairying nations. My superiors are colleagues of international stature and the Chairman who till recently was Dr. V. Kurien is a winner of the Ramon Magsaysay Award and the World Food Prize among others. He has now been succeeded by Dr A. Patel who is an equally reputed Dairy Scientist and veterinarian. I report directly to her. The various departments of the NDDB are all headed, for the moment, by General Managers, except for Public Relations which is headed by a Senior General Manager. In terms of heirarchy he is fourth from top after the Chairman, and the two Executive Directors.
Handled by a General Manager (Public Relations) under my supervision this involves close co-ordination with the print and electronic media to ensure that the Board's contribution to society is portrayed and perceived in the correct perspective. He has the support of four officers and other staff.
Also under the General Manager (Public Relations) under my supervision this involves the publication of in-house literature including the Annual Report, annual reports of other associate organisations, a bi-monthly bi-lingual house journal for internal publics and a fortnightly news digest for external publics.
The National Dairy Development Board plays host to a large number of high powered delegations from all over the world throughout the year. These delega tions often consist of heads of state and ambassadorial level guests, which need special arrangements. Protocol arrangements are handled by the Protocol sec tion headed by a Manager (Public Relations) under my supervision. He has the support of three officers and other staff.
